At Pusch Ridge Preschool, we believe that your child learns best when teachers and parents work together toward the care and education of our children. Parents are encouraged to participate in their child's education by either being an officer of the PTO board or serving as a room parent in their child's classroom. The PTO board is involved in such things as our charitable giving program, volunteer program, planning of special events and parent communication.
|
Charitable Giving Program
The PTO board is the link between PRP&K's Charitable Giving Program, the parent, and community fundraising events planned throughout the year. Charities to benefit from our fundraising events include the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Arizona, and another charity to be selected by the students and staff of PRP&K. Activities scheduled for the year include the Cinco de Mayo Dinner and the Lotza Pasta Dinner.
The PTO board will also work with PRP&K management to assist in the public relations, fundraising ideas and setup, and learning events designed to encourage community responsibility in our young children. |
Parent Communications Committee
PTO members assist with PRP&K-to-Parent communications, including assistance with the monthly newsletter, helping coordinate parent training events at parent meetings, helping us "get the word out" on upcoming events and activities, and overall assistance with parent communications, becoming the "eyes and ears" of parents and children at PRP.
The PTo board is responsible for suggesting topics of interest in the monthly newsletter, creating a "parent corner" section of the newsletter, and general parent to PRP communications.

Volunteer Services Committee
The PTO board assists in the coordination and implementation of our in-classroom volunteer programs, including our Senior Citizen “nurturers” in our infant and toddler rooms and our story-tellers and parent teachers in our preschool rooms. PTO members will help us identify, schedule, and coordinate volunteer participation in the classroom, including uncovering hidden talents of parents who have something special to offer our children's learning.
The PTO board is responsible for helping assemble, identify, coordinate, train and obtain clearance for our classroom volunteers.

Special Events Committee
PTO members are the "party group" as it will have the fun task of assisting PRP management and staff with seasonal events and parties for parents and children. Many times, this committee will work in conjunction with the Charitable Giving Program Committee in planning social events with our fundraising efforts. Other events this committee will help with include our Easter Egg Hunt, Thanksgiving Dinner, Mother's Day Tea, Preschool Graduation, Father's Day Putting Challenge, Halloween Parade, Grandparent's Day, School Picture Day and our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The PTO board coordinates with PRP&K management in the creation of special event ideas, decorating, special guests and attractions and planning and implementation of the party! |
