At Pusch Ridge Preschool, we believe that society's future depends upon our commitment to nurture the optimal growth and development of every child. As child educators, we have taken on this mission by designing the highest quality facility and program available to children today. Through our innovative, interactive classrooms and play areas, and our pioneering educational curricula, your child will be immersed in a learning environment where every child's imagination and sense of play carries them on a journey of learning. We believe that young children learn best by active learning, and that is why Pusch Ridge Preschool is a child-centered program where children are encouraged to learn by playing and experiencing the world around them. Through play, children quickly come to enjoy the learning process and feel more confident in their own capabilities, by exploring and learning in our material-rich environment. First and foremost, our most important goal in the preschool is to help children become enthusiastic learners. We do this by encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We're teaching them how to learn, not just in preschool, but all through their lives. Our curriculum has goals in all the areas of your child's developmental stages during these early learning years. Each day, our teachers' lesson plans will emphasize learning and will create an active environment designed to foster development in each of the following developmental areas:
- Social Development: To help children feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends, and feel they are part of the group.
- Emotional Development: To help children experience pride and self confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude toward life.
- Cognitive Skills: To help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, and by helping them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations and feelings.
- Physical Ability: To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.
- Everything we do – from the activities we plan for the children, to the way we organize the classroom, from our careful selection of materials and toys, to how we plan the daily schedule with children – everything is designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school.
